Mumbai Datacentre · NVMe Performance · INR Billing · Instant Attach
Block Storage India.
Attach Extra Disk to Any VPS.
Persistent NVMe block volumes that attach and detach from your HostStack KVM VPS in seconds. Your data lives independently of the server. INR billing, GST invoice, resize any time.
Why HostStack Block Storage
Persistent. Fast. Flexible.
Instant Attach / Detach
Add or remove a disk from your running VPS in seconds via the control panel. No reboot, no downtime.
NVMe Performance
Volumes are backed by NVMe storage. Consistent IOPS, low latency — no noisy-neighbour disk interference.
INR + GST Billing
Billed in Indian rupees with a proper GST invoice. No foreign-exchange charges or hidden currency conversion.
Persistent Data
Your volume is independent of the VPS lifecycle. Delete, rebuild, or replace a server without touching the data volume.
Resize Anytime
Grow your volume online without unmounting. Expand the filesystem with a single command after resize.
Snapshot Support
Take point-in-time snapshots before major changes. Restore quickly if something goes wrong.
Use Cases
Built for real workloads
Database Storage
Attach a dedicated NVMe volume to your MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB instance. Keep database files separate from your OS disk. Snapshot before every schema migration.
Large File Uploads
Handle user-uploaded files, video transcoding queues, and bulk CSV imports on a dedicated volume. Scale storage independently from CPU and RAM.
Development Environments
Spin up a dev VPS, attach a volume with your project data, detach when done, reattach to a bigger server for load testing. Data stays, server changes.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is block storage?
- Block storage is a persistent volume that appears to your server as a raw disk device. You can format it with any filesystem (ext4, xfs, etc.), mount it, and use it exactly like a local hard drive — but it lives independently of your VPS so your data survives server deletion or rebuild.
- What is the difference between block storage and object storage?
- Block storage is mounted as a filesystem and used by applications directly (databases, logs, large files). Object storage is accessed via HTTP/S3 API and is better for unstructured data like backups and media. Use block storage when your app needs a mount point; use object storage for archival or CDN use cases.
- How do I attach a block storage volume to my VPS?
- From the HostStack control panel, create a volume, select the target VPS, and click Attach. The volume appears as a new block device (e.g. /dev/sdb). Format it once with mkfs, create a mount point, and add it to /etc/fstab for persistent mounting. Full docs provided on launch.
- What are the performance specs?
- Block storage volumes are backed by NVMe storage in the Mumbai datacentre. Sequential read/write speeds and IOPS figures will be published in the product documentation at launch. Performance is consistent — no noisy-neighbour disk contention.
- Can I resize a volume and will it affect my data?
- Volumes can be expanded online without downtime. After resizing in the panel, run resize2fs (ext4) or xfs_growfs (xfs) to extend the filesystem. Shrinking is not supported — plan your initial size conservatively or start small and grow.
