Who this is for

When one shared IP isn't enough

Extra dedicated IPv4 makes sense for a specific set of technical or compliance needs — here's where it usually comes up.

Mail server operators

Running your own mail server? A dedicated IP keeps your sending reputation isolated from other tenants, so one bad actor elsewhere doesn't get your mail blocked.

Agencies hosting client sites

Managing multiple client websites on one server? Separate IPs per client make SSL, DNS and troubleshooting cleaner, and keep one client's issue from affecting another's IP reputation.

Compliance requirements

Some regulatory or contractual requirements call for dedicated, individually addressable IPs rather than shared infrastructure — common in fintech and healthcare-adjacent setups.

Pricing

Single IPs and small blocks

Priced per additional IPv4 address, with a modest per-unit discount on larger blocks. All prices are add-ons to an existing VPS, VDS or dedicated server plan.

A note on IPv4 scarcity

IPv4 addresses are a genuinely limited resource. Regional internet registries (RIPE, APNIC and similar bodies globally) require justification for allocating larger blocks, and we follow the same principle. A single IP or a /30 is usually straightforward. A /29 typically needs a short explanation of use case. Anything larger than a /29 — including a /28 — requires documented justification (for example, number of SSL certificates needing dedicated IPs, or multi-tenant mail hosting with reputation isolation needs) before we can allocate it.

We're not able to hand out large blocks on request without this — it's a policy constraint from the registries we obtain address space through, not just a Hoststack preference.

FAQ

IP add-on questions, answered

Extra IPv4 addresses are added as an add-on to an active VPS, VDS or dedicated server. Reach out to our team through /contact with your existing service details and how many IPs you need — we'll confirm pricing and get them attached.
Reverse DNS is optional but strongly recommended for mail servers, since many mail providers check that an IP's rDNS resolves to a sensible hostname before accepting mail. We can configure custom rDNS records for your additional IPs on request — just let us know the hostname you want each IP to resolve to.
Yes. A /64 IPv6 block is included by default on VPS, VDS and dedicated server plans at no extra charge. This page covers additional IPv4 specifically, since IPv4 is the scarce, priced resource — IPv6 addressing is effectively unlimited per customer.
A single IP or a /30 block is usually approved without much back-and-forth. A /29 needs a brief explanation of your use case. Anything from a /28 upward requires documented justification in line with regional internet registry policy — we can't allocate large blocks purely on request. Talk to us about your specific need and we'll tell you what's realistic.
Yes — dedicated per-IP SSL was historically the main reason to buy extra IPv4 addresses, back before SNI (Server Name Indication) made shared-IP SSL practical for most sites. It's still relevant for some legacy clients or specific compliance setups that require it. For most modern use cases, mail reputation isolation and multi-tenant separation are more common reasons.
