Scrubbing filters attack traffic

- HostStack edge mitigation covers volumetric L3/L4 attacks (UDP floods, SYN floods, ICMP floods, DNS amplification) as well as application-layer L7 attacks including HTTP floods and slowloris-style connections. Our scrubbing infrastructure filters malicious traffic at the network edge before it reaches your VPS.
- Does HostStack protect against UDP floods specifically?
- Yes. UDP amplification attacks are one of the most common DDoS vectors. Our Mumbai POP scrubs UDP flood traffic at the edge — your VPS receives only clean, legitimate packets. Game servers on HostStack benefit from this especially, since UDP is the transport for most game protocols.
- Is L7 (application layer) DDoS protection included?
- L7 HTTP flood mitigation is included for web workloads. For complex application-layer attacks targeting custom protocols, we recommend combining HostStack edge mitigation with a CDN (e.g. Cloudflare free tier) in front of your origin — this is the standard layered architecture for production Indian web apps.
- Is DDoS protection really free on all HostStack plans?
